Emergency lockouts
Expect to show ID and proof that you live at the address or own the vehicle before entry; non-destructive entry is tried first where the lock allows.

What this covers
Locked out of a house, flat or car, a key snapped in the lock or a lock that will not turn.
Before the locksmith arrives
- Wait somewhere safe and well lit, especially at night.
- Have ID and proof of address (or the V5C logbook for a car) ready.
- Do not force the door or window — frame and glass damage usually costs more than the lock.
